Rome, 10-15 November 2019.

There took place for the first time ever, a major Congress for Formation of Franciscan Secular Order (OFS) Assistants of the 4 main branches of the Franciscan Order.

76 Friars from English and Spanish areas of the world attended this meeting at the Seraphicum University, one of 3 Franciscan universities in Rome. Speakers shared on our history, spirituality and way of life; and of how to promote and assist secular/lay Franciscans throughout the world.

Along with the wonderful lectures from Friars and Secular Franciscans, there was great sharing, fraternity and prayerful Liturgies during these days as well as a papal audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican.

Brothers Dónal Walsh OFM and John Cavanagh OFMCap, two of three National Assistants for the OFS in Britain, participated in this International Formation Course.
